Barter? Who said barter existed at the Hotel Chelsea? Been at the Hotel Chelsea for over 35 years and never known anyone who traded art for rent. Many people have died and the art they loaned to hang on the walls stayed for unknown reasons. Have known neighbors with works in the lobby on loan who have lived to retrieve their art.
